A quick post scriptum to The Oxford Handbook of Freedom of Speech
If ever there was a non-fiction book that was heroin for the mind – this is it (right after roget’s thesaurus, but differently)! reading it, i felt as if I had woken up, or, to put it differently, becoming conscious of the fact, that i have been braindead, or in a coma, or some such zombyesque state of non-consciousness. not only did it provide a comprehensive overview of the current debate on freedom of expression, the book has inspired my moral commitment to civic duty – a duty in a nepenthean nap, sedated by inexcusable yet numbing adulthood.
